Alcohol Free Podcast Recommendations with an Exciting Update

alcohol free inspiration alcohol free resources podcasts sober living Mar 02, 2020

I became a student of my own problem when I ditched the drink.

I immersed myself in books, instagrammers, music, and everything alcohol free.

These sober tools were great guides and helped me to feel part of a larger community.

I was a lurker in this community, and now I am a contributor!

This can happen to you too!

This email was one of the first Ditched the Drink Subscribers emails I sent.

I started with about 20 family and friends emails, and it has grown from there.

I still agree with my recommendations, but I have one exciting update.

I was interviewed for Recovery Happy Hour!!! You can find me on Episode 81.

I am really proud of my interview. Check it out!

Here are a few of my podcast recommendations:

HOME by Laura McKowen and Holly Whitaker

They no longer do this podcast, but I used to listen to it as I walked the track during my daughter's volleyball practice. it made me feel like I was on the phone with my friends. This really helped me because I was tucking in and avoiding everything just to stay sober at the time. I was too fragile to talk about it yet, and still I needed a sense of community. Listening to Laura and Holly helped.

Recovery Happy Hour

Tricia is the host, she's so artsy and cute! I also follow her on Instagram. She was addicted to alcohol, but good at making it look like she didn't have a problem. I totally relate to her. She interviews sober people. Sharing stories is such a fantastic healer. You don't have to identify as an alcoholic to take a listen!

UPDATE FIND MY INTERVIEW ON EPISODE 81!

The Bubble Hour

This podcast is right up my alley as the hosts are dedicated to removing the stigma surrounding alcoholism. This show is full of education, community, and empathy. Its one of my favorites.

The Adult Chair

Michelle is a therapist and although this podcast is not specific to sobriety or recovery, I think its worth mentioning. Listening to Michelle is like a free therapy session for all your mental health needs and her advice is solid.

Unruffled

This show explores topics related to creativity in recovery. I am a wanna be artist and exploring creativity and how our passionate pursuits fuel recovery help us write new stories. Don't you just love the artists?

The Rich Roll Podcast

Rich is a total badass. You can listen for his voice, alone. He inspires greatness in professional development, as an ultra-athlete, and a wellness evangelist. At the end of every show I am ready to take on the world!
